We’re always told that life is impermanent, and subject to change. But until you experience it, it’s all kind of theoretical.

I think we’re all past theory now.

In my own case, this has looked like me having to close my practice down essentially overnight. Many of my clients and colleagues are scared and unsure of their futures too. We’re all finding ourselves at this crossroads, deciding what to do next, how to weather this storm.

We have an invitation for discernment here.

Right now from a Chinese medicine perspective, the metal element and the attributes of a healthy lung and large intestine are being tested. This all has to do with making choices, thinking about what really matters, and leaning into our values. But it’s not only about the thinking and feeling element ––  there’s also a big part of this that has to do with action. Metal is about making cuts and boundaries, while the intestines and lungs both have to do with letting go of things. It’s a wonderful invitation for discernment.

In my case, I’m feeling the need to deepen my roots.

Nothing is going to be the same after this. And this very well may be the first of many storms to come. But as long as the foundation and the roots of your body, your spirit, your business, are strong, you’ll be able to stand it. I’d like to invite you to join me in strengthening your own roots as I strengthen mine. Whether that simply looks like breathing and remaining as present as you can, or taking action to really think about what’s valuable to you and to let go of what’s not.

This is big stuff. But you’re not alone.

I’m a healer –– just because my physical practice is closed right now doesn’t mean I’m not working. I’m finding all new ways to do what I do, and I’d love for you to be a part of it. Whether you’re looking for healing, community, or support for keeping yourself well in the midst of all this craziness, I’m here for you. I’m doing lots of distance work in the form of group meditations and qigong, distance healing, and telemedicine and health education that’s now being covered by those who have medical insurance, so click here to find out how I can support you.
