Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. ~William Arthur Ward

It’s no fun to wake up at 3 AM with a headache. That’s exactly how I started today. In my very awake state I listened to a talk by Marianne Williamson, whom I know by name but have never read her material. The message: Today I will start the day with this question, which will be answered over the course of the day: How can I best be of service in my communities? And, my mood for holding this question: Gratitude.

In these hours, have been pondering a way to be of further service while expressing a deep bow of gratitude to my dear readers (that’s you) for a wonderful year. It wasn’t a wonderful year in the sense that everything went swimmingly. Not at all. There were a lot of bumps, bruises, scrapes, HOLY #$#! moments and, despite all of them, I choose to embrace difficult times as a way to become a better practitioner, partner, daughter, friend and human being. And amid the rollercoaster there was much beauty, love and joy sprinkled in between.

To express my gratitude to you, please join me four Saturdays in January 2016 from 1pm-4pm for a Pay-What-You-Can Wellness Clinic at my office in Takoma Park. If you’ve over-spent, overindulged and are low on energy and are seeking to recover by practicing the gifts of Winter (see above), please stop by for a minimum of a 20-minute treatment, community-style. I started my practice over five-years ago with this business model and I’m delighted to return to it in the New Year. Pins will be inserted below the elbows or knees or on the ears. Come one, come all! Bring your loved ones who either have or haven’t experienced this ancient medicine. ¬†Reserve your time here.

Dates for this community clinic are Saturdays from 1-4pm on January 9, 16, 23 & 30.¬† Don’t put off self-care until “I have more money or time”. I’ve removed the money and time barrier. January is a great month to reflect on what you’d like for this New Year and with the coming of the Year of the Fire Monkey on February 8, January is a great month to forego starting your resolutions. Instead, steep in imagining, dreaming and practicing stillness and quiet so the strong, quiet voice of who you are can come forth. Save what bubbles up for the Lunar New Year proclamation. You’ll have had the time to decompress from the busyness post holidays. Whatever you do, make it a HAPPY HOLIDAY!
