Just in time for the cold weather months, this tea has helped me out when I’m not feeling 100%.  However, I need to look at my schedule to see where I’m losing energy, and it’s usually around getting less sleep than I normally do.

If lack of sleep is a factor with any of my patients, and if there is also cold or flu symptoms, I recommend they prepare the recipe below to see if it helps. Not one remedy works for everyone. This can be an excellent one, but it may not work for each person.  And, the only way to know is to make it and see what you observe.

“I Think I May Be Coming Down with Something” Tea

3 c. water
2-3 in. of fresh ginger root, sliced
4-5 scallions, sliced (white part only)
rind of two tangerines (organic would be best;)

Combine in a pot, bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 3-4 minutes. Strain and drink. You may add a bit of honey or brown sugar. Sip and let your body tell you if this is a remedy you can keep for yourself and/or pass it along to someone who it might help.
